The First 83-inch QD-OLED TVs Will be Available In 2025
According to unconfirmed information, Samsung plans to release its first 83-inch QD-OLED TV in 2025. Currently, Samsung Display’s QD-OLED display technology, which competes with LG Display’s WOLED technology, is only available in 55-, 65-, and 77-inch TVs such as the Samsung S95D and Sony A95L.
Next year, the lineup of such TVs may expand to 83 inches. Reddit experts drew this conclusion based on an analysis of Samsung’s component database, which now includes references to Samsung’s 2025 models. That database references the QD83S95FAE and QE83S95FAT models, suggesting that the 2025 flagship will be released as the Samsung S95F, replacing this year’s S95D and omitting the letter “E.”
However, experts note that Samsung’s 83-inch S95F flagship will be available with both QD-OLED and WOLED panels, repeating the situation with this year’s S90D – at least for the 83-inch models. While this confusion over panel type is worrisome, the potential expansion of QD-OLED technology to 83 inches next year is excellent news!
It could also lead to 83-inch QD-OLED models in Sony’s 2025 TV lineup after the company refrained from updating its A95 series in 2024, though that’s just speculation. In January, Samsung’s 2025 TVs will be unveiled at CES 2025 in Las Vegas.
