Samsung QD-OLED Panel of 2025
Samsung Display said a new QD-OLED panel designed for 2025 TVs will be 30 percent brighter than last year’s panel, reaching a peak brightness of more than 4,000 nits.
Samsung Display, the maker of QD-OLED panels used in Samsung Electronics and Sony TVs, announced the move ahead of CES 2025.

Samsung’s new QD-OLEDs are some of the brightest OLED panels currently available. This achievement is attributed to “advanced panel control technology and new organic materials.” Unlike LG Display’s WOLED panels, which rely on white subpixels, Samsung’s QD-OLED panels achieve high brightness and color purity through their red, green, and blue subpixels.
At CES 2025, Samsung Display plans to showcase a 77-inch prototype TV with the new panel.
The QD-OLED panel unveiled at 2025 utilizes advanced panel control technology and new organic materials to achieve a peak brightness of more than 4,000 nits based on the combined brightness measurement of red, green and blue light. This makes it the brightest OLED panel for TVs currently available – about 30 percent brighter than the previous year’s SDC models
Samsung Display said.
The panel is expected to appear in at least the Samsung S95F, which will be unveiled at CES 2025 and may appear in other 2025 models.
In addition, Samsung plans to release its first 83-inch QD-OLED TV in 2025.
However, the TVs’ peak brightness is not expected to reach 4,000 nits in calibrated mode. Last year, Samsung Display claimed that the QD-OLED panel of the 2024 TV would reach 3,000 nits, but the Samsung S95D had brightness at 1,600 nits in calibrated mode.
